Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Caves Beach S.L.S.C. Inc has a very successful history in all facets of surf life saving. Since 1929, no life has been lost at Caves Beach whilst members have been on patrol. Hence, Caves Beach is regarded as a safe aquatic environment for local families and tourists to bathe on those hot summer days.

During the 2004 season, Caves Beach S.L.S.C.'s 80 active patrol, 44 active reserve and long serving members completed over 2630 patrol hours. They performed 24 rescues and initiated 196 preventative actions.

The club's Junior Activities Committee (JAC) is now the second largest in the Hunter Branch. JAC members, "Nippers" as they are so warmly known comprise children aged 6 through 14. The Nipper movement is the breeding ground for tomorrows active patrol members, the surf club's competitors and our future champions. At Caves Beach the JAC places a heavy focus on providing Surf Education programs and skills training for it's young members. They were recently awarded the High Commendation from Hunter Surf Lifesaving for their Surf Education Program.

In competition, Caves Beach boasts over 37 State, Australian and World Champions. This competitive record is not only a testament to our club members' dedication, perseverance and will to win but a measure of their capability and the quality of service the provide.

Registrations for the new season will be on Sunday the 11th & 18th of September from 10:00a.m. to 12:00.
